As of 1 April 2019, the tax-free customs procedure at Vienna International Airport is only being done electronically.
Passengers first have to digitally scan all forms, receipts and travel documents in a service area and have them checked.
You save valuable time at the airport by taking advantage of the exclusive service offered at the Vienna Welcome Center in downtown Vienna before you depart for the airport.
While the receipts and forms are being processed at the Vienna Welcome Center, you can enjoy a delicious coffee and treat yourself to traditional Viennese pastries.
Doing this allows you to use the Fast Lane/express counters at the airport. You just have to show the products you purchased and your passport.
This is how it works:
The information can be recorded before take-off. Please bring all the tax-free forms and the original receipts along with your passport.
We record your information and prepare the documents for quick processing at the airport and then return all the documents to you. You then take them along with the products you purchased to the eValidation Service in Terminals 1, 1A, or 3 at Vienna International Airport. Use the Fast Lane and the express counters. There you will promptly receive your QR codes (customs stamp).
Two floors down you will find washrooms. The charge is 50 cents which you will get back in the form of a voucher. The voucher can be redeemed in our Souvenir Shop or in our Coffee House.
